As a metaphor maker I use my body as a medium to illustrate various personifications of historical categories such as Nature, Female, and Human. Using self-portraiture I explore the trans female form in relation to rapidly changing post-industrial ecologies. My work positions global warming not only as a problem of representation, but a threat to essentialist gender ideologies. Through desperate attempts to scare or seduce the viewer, I form spaces where objects like utopia and dystopia coexist. A contradiction, but so are you my love.
